Celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Virtual Award Ceremony

  •  On May 13th, 2020,  the winners of  the 2020 BAAFN student essay contest were recognized for their essays addressing the contest theme  
          "What it means to be Asian American"
​
in a virtual award ceremony.  


Each writer shared his/her personal reflections and anecdotes, providing insight to the journey each one followed before coming to terms with his/her heritage. Their backgrounds have origins in Korea,  Taiwan, India and China.   
​
In addition, guest speaker,
Jessica Tang shared the series of steps she took that led to her becoming president of the Boston Teachers Union.
