BAAFN's goal is to support and encourage PSB elementary schools to teach, celebrate and honor the Asian American experience all year long, and especially during May. With funding from the Brookline Community Foundation, BAAFN was able to provide materials to kickstart each school's May Heritage Month events with a celebratory display created by students and families. See the results below.
The displays celebrate Asian American Pacific Islanders by highlighting their contributions to the arts, academia, business, cuisine, politics, science, and sports at international, national and local levels.

The Driscoll school project was a collaborative effort between the 7th and 8th grade students. The 7th graders wrote the Chinese version of the biographies of the AAPI celebrities and the 8th graders drew the title and the cherry blossom branch. In addition, the upper classmen had a book reading Draw together in class with the lower grades. Courtesy Photos - Driscoll Chinese Language teacher Lan Wu |
