On May 8th, 2019 winners of BAAFN's student essay contest were joined by family, friends, educators, town authorities and Brookline community members at the Brookline Teen Center to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Each winner addressed the theme of "What It means to be Asian American" and shared personal reflections and anecdotes on the impact this has had in his/her life. This year, entries included students with backgrounds from Korea, China, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Armenia, Israel and Ireland. |
